Do other western #cdrama fans feel like the period/fantasy costume dramas are loaded with subtle jabs at Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party?
Maybe I'm just reading things into a non-existent subtext, but every time a character goes on about "corruption" and "serving the people", I feel like they're subtly criticizing the CCP and the censors are kind of letting it all slide.
