piss leak update: my kitchen ceiling is saturated with runoff and something metal up there is rusting

piss leak update: the building engineer has definitively confirmed that the liquid is piss. we don’t know whose. it’s coming from at least 2 floors above me, and my upstairs neighbor is bearing the brunt of the leak

piss leak update: the engineer has the weekend off, so he’s just gonna leave my ceiling leaking piss until monday. also, the leak has spread to my kitchen

piss leak update: there are no updates. the ceiling still leaks piss. the homeowners association hasn’t said a thing, despite a promise to investigate further. the slow drip in the bathroom is just loud enough to keep me up at night. a plague upon the upstairs neighbors

piss leak update: the leak is now going through to my downstairs neighbor, his downstairs neighbor, and possibly further. the building is finally taking the issue seriously, and they’re cutting open a wall tomorrow

piss leak update: there are at least 2 distinct leaks, one piss and one non-piss. the pipes are being repaired, but the water damage remediation hasn’t started yet. the bill is expected to run into the tens of thousands, possibly even to six figures

piss leak update: there isn’t a leak anymore, but the walls are still flooded with piss. a water damage remediation company will have to cut open the walls and extract the piss, then cut down the rest of the walls and replace them with new walls

piss leak update: my kitchen and bathroom are both sealed off in plastic. i have to unzip a zipper to enter either. there are industrial dehumidifiers in most of my rooms, all whirring along just loudly enough to make it hard to think. everything will be like this for at least a week
