Michael Tsai - Blog - Liquid Glass Is Permanent

@mjtsai I figured "Liquid Glass" is staying around, for a while anyway. More concerning to me was this:

« a massive part of the initial Liquid Glass rollout was simply ensuring the foundation was solid. It had to be functional, it had to meet incredibly strict styling guidelines across every single Apple platform, and most importantly, it just had to work »

Does Apple realize it failed here? That would be a problem.

@bgeerdes I don’t see how they couldn’t realize it, but I guess they can’t admit it.
@mjtsai Apple could tell us that Liquid Glass remains the future, but maybe with a little humility? If iOS 27 (& company) are demonstrably better, fine, we can all pretend at some point that iOS 26 wasn't *that* bad. But if iOS 27 is not much better, well, I guess we're seeing the new normal with Apple. (See also: Apple Intelligence.)
@bgeerdes @mjtsai Great to hear that incredibly strict styling guidelines allow for illegibility, content being cut off, UI components flashing back and white as content scrolls beneath, countless misalignment issues, etc.
