"It's none of my business," the woman said, "but..."

The witch did not roll her eyes.

"...I heard you gave the baker's gal fangs, and claws."

"She asked."

"You've made her a monster!"

"Adding doesn't make you a monster. Removing does."

"Removing what?"

"Someone's right to be who they are."

@MicroSFF

Quite a while back, on another platform, did you write a story about a man with an alarming feature on his teeth?

@nlarson830 I honestly have no idea.

@MicroSFF

It was a story about a man who noticed one day that there were little black spots on his teeth.
He brushed his teeth and they were unchanged.
He looked very closely in the mirror.
The little black spots were actually short black hairs growing out of his teeth.

@nlarson830 That doesn't sound like me. Might have been Cassandra Khaw? She used to write microfiction on Twitter, and tended to do more horror than me.

@MicroSFF

I never got the author's name. 😒

Thanks for your time 👍

Think of the baker's girl, the one who dreamed of fangs and claws
And weep, for you know why girls dream such dreams
But think of the baker's girl as well, the one who from pain remade herself
And rejoice, for you know that no cage will hold her
Ever again
