Sometimes I feel sorry for people who say ‘you’re too emotional’ as an insult. Imagine growing up with a world view that tells you feelings and emotions are weakness, and that people with feelings and emotions are not to be trusted. How broken that must be. But I don’t feel sorry for them.
@skinnylatte On the other hand, maudlin displays of emotion usually don't help make stressful situations any easier to deal with. At least not in my experience.
@ben @skinnylatte yes and no. In my experience the stressful situations are probably caused by someone acting out instead of letting their emotions bring some catharsis.
