It is a little known fact that when stigmata appear on a devoted follower, the scars on the body of the holy leader or saint disappear. It is as if the scars are temporarily transferred to the devotee.

For example, every time you see the clear, unblemished upper right ear of God's appointed holy man, one of his most dedicated followers has to staunch a flow of blood from their right ear.
