my muscle memory for vim depends on certain binds/behavior existing so if those aren't included then using vim bindings will make me slower because I'm constantly trying to use those unsupported binds. at that point i'd rather just use regular binds or emacs binds
emacs evil mode does a fantastic job emulating vim
