Ended up taking my old PC and refactoring it to a "#Steam Machine" to try and save some money if the official Steam Machine is super high priced (which it will be).
Ended up going with #Bazzite because that is what a lot of wannabe normies talk about when they joke about installing a #Linux based OS for gaming. So after about 5 minutes of research I decided the
After the install to my surprises I got exactly what I wanted. Went right into Steam Big Picture and was able to set everything up via controller and everything just kind of works.
Even the #KDE Plasma "Desktop Mode" is exactly what you would want as it is set up 98% the same as the Steam Decks. The Bazzite control app or whatever it is called is pretty great because it gives you one click options for doing any extras you would want such as enabling SSH. installing Decky Loader, auto-mounting ext4 drives on boot, and a lot more. It has only been 24 hours with the system but it is pretty much what I would want as "Steam Machine".
The case is a bit bigger than I want but there is not much options in HTPC cases that support the size of the extra video card I was using.
