Lehigh Valley Live: Driver pronounced dead after wrong-way crash involving 7 vehicles, police say (UPDATE)

"...One driver was pronounced dead and three other motorists were injured and taken to the hospital in a wrong-way crash Sunday in Lehigh County, authorities said.

It occurred about 11 a.m. as a 2020 Tesla headed west on Center Valley Parkway in Upper Saucon Township crossed over the concrete median into eastbound traffic, township police said...."

@ai6yr good thing that we were on the #3 lane getting ready to exit at Wendy. It seems that the car corrected itself at the same time my friend grabbed the wheel. It was a strong jerk.

A friend's model 3 decided to suddenly veer off the highway. Luckily the car just rolled and slid to a stop upside down and didn't hit anything hard. Both him and his daughter were badly shaken but not seriously hurt.

@ai6yr I admit I don't know those specifically, but I really don't think they use so called "AI" in the way you mean it there (god I wish people hadn't let the scammers push that out there as such a general term.) "Vision" or whatever it's called is way too slow run locally (and any uploading to servers would add dangerous amounts of latency and risk if connections falter — plus it would pretty much take a dedicated server for each vehicle) for use in a car at car speeds.

Realistically speaking it must be using a different type of tech. Something adaptive and probably processing only pieces at a time. (For example, you likely only need to poll the road itself every few moments for approaching potholes or whatever but traffic on your side frequently and maybe the other side less so?)
