@retech Genuinely: Given the amount of space junk currently up there, and that occasionally some bits do make it to the ground intact, I wonder if home insurance against being hit by an object from space is a thing yet?

The chunk that hit that house was easily a full pound or more (.5kg). Even if not covered, they'll still make money off it after the repairs. It made a relatively clean hole all the way through. Kind of surprised by the lack of greater damage. But it did go all the way through the house. (not surprising)
