My Wife: I’ve seen reports that bears are up and about. Time to bring in the feeder.

Me: Seems awfully early.

My Wife: You said that last year.

Me: I did? Ok, after the weekend.

My Wife: That’s EXACTLY what you said last year. And then when did the bear eat our feeder?

Me: Errr… like Monday night I think.

My Wife: No, it was Sunday morning.

Me: We’ll compromise. How about Saturday night?

SATURDAY, 6:30pm
Me: I took the feeder in. See, no bears.

10 minutes later…

#Bears #15SecondsOfFame

@danmccullough I'll never understand how people live so casually near bears. Do you just carry a gun with you everywhere you go?
@bit They aren’t aggressive and usually rumble off with any man made noise. Though we’re certainly more diligent when mom is with her cubs. Most of their activity is at night. I’ve only got caught outside with a bear once, and it was on the other side of the brook. Barely paid attention to me. Still, I joke about the feeder but it’s super important not to leave any food around.
@bit @danmccullough these are black bears, you can scare them off by banging pots together and yelling.
