Yeovil Volleyball ClubYesterday our SW Men's team travelled down to Weymouth in a repeat of their February fixture vs Weymouth VC & Bristol VC. 1st match was vs Bristol & after relatively easy wins in the 1st 2 sets, Bristol fought back to take the 3rd & then forced the 4th set all the way but ultimately YVC took the set & match - MVP libero #1 Alex
In the 2nd match against Weymouth there was good support for both teams creating a great atmosphere in the hall. YVC again started strong, comfortably taking the 1st set 25-17 but Weymouth responded, narrowly taking the 2nd set 25-23. This pattern continued with YVC winning the 3rd set 25-20 then Weymouth winning the 4th 25-18
So, it all came down to the 5th set. Although the initial points were tightly contested it was Weymouth that led 8-7 at the change of ends & were up 12-10 before YVC were able to steady the ship & put together a steady period of play that took them through to win 15-12 taking all of the last 5 points of the match! MVP #9 Dima!
