If a real, native application is available: nice, I'd take that.

If the „dedicated desktop app“ is electron anyway: No, thanks, I'll just use my Firefox instead.

@mhamzahkhan As long as we're not considering a webbrowser in a trenchcoat (e.g. electron) a "proper dedicated desktop app": Give me proper dedicated desktop apps please. You know, the ones using native toolkits with OS-specific desktop integration instead of re-inventing the wheel for toolkit, design, notifications, etc.

I want UI consistency across the system above all else.
