The systemd project is under attack by a trolling campaign orchestrated by fascist elements, accusing it of implementing "age verification".

I wrote more about the facts on my blog: https://blog.bofh.it/debian/id_473 .

systemd has not implemented age verification

@rfc1036 you lost me at calling those people nazis. Like literally i stopped reading your article after “campaign orchestrated by fascist elements” and “the free software Nazi bar crowd”. And I was one of the people acknowledging systemd was already taking over /etc/passwd before age verification law.

The biggest problem of systemd has always been how it treats its users. You show nothing has changed.

@letoams Calling out literal fascists should be the less contentious part of my post. I strongly suspect that you are not aware of the context.
@rfc1036 and you are still blaming others, eg me the reader of your explanation, of not getting your explanation. Instead of say, clarifying your article. Again, the user/reader is blamed …… It is the systemd way
@letoams I am quite aware that in my post I have not provided details about where this brigading originates, because you deal with trolls by not giving them visibility.

@letoams
Same. I don't think people know what the word "fascist" means any more and just use it to mean "activists whose politics I don't like." People trolling a major software project for adding a DOB field in the current political climate aren't fascists or Nazis.

And comparing the systemd DOB entry to the GECOS field is disingenuous trolling itself. I get rage posting when you're pissed off, but if these are genuine thoughts then @rfc1036 isn't someone to take seriously.
