I really miss the bodges and practical projects of the old days. I think there's been a gentrification of making over the last few years and it's sort of swamped the field with projects that are made for the sake of making. I'm okay with that - people can make whatever they want to. I just miss those projects that were driven by necessity and simplicity rather than whatever board or led is trendy this month.

@LewisWorkshop Aye. People got embarassed to show their failures, their dodgy welds and their dovetails that didn't match up perfectly and had to be hammered instead of snapping together with the click of a Lego brick.

I guess that's what I like about #AntsPants videos. He's not hiding his failures and just slaps some shit together and when it doesn't work he shrugs it off or fixes it.
