Saw this Very Good Boy in our London park walk this morning. He was ever so poignantly watching his human children as they played on the swings and slides in the no-dogs area.

Setters really are such especially sweet family dogs. What am I saying? I love them all.

@mariafarrell Can confirm. We had a lovely one for many years. When visiting prospective parents we met a dad dog lying on the floor among children, tolerating boisterous toddlers w equanimity. Owner looked puzzled for a moment, then lifted dog's lip and extricated a tractor parked under it.

Child friendly temperament 👌

Reputation for being highly strung is exaggerated & applicable to show dogs. Most are patient, friendly, expert face readers, and always pleased to see you.

@samueljohnson oh that is gorgeous. every single one I've met has seemed the kind of dog to do exactly that tractor/toddler tolerance. such kind, bright faces. their temperaments seem pretty bomb proof.
