@thomasfuchs my friend got one and then the year or two after the "iSight" camera started being integrated into every Apple display.

We couldn't tell whether the OG FireWire iSight was overbuilt or whether the bits needed to run it had become small enough to fit into screen bezels.

It was probably both.
