I would never call myself a German patriot (why should random borders from past wars matter after all), but otherwise this one is quite on spot about the current German government:
Jürgen HubertI know the use of the term "patriot" is controversial, particularly in Germany. For me, it means: "I want what is best for my country."
And I see "what is best for my country" as "turning Germany into an open, progressive society that isn't controlled by the oligarchs and their tools". I.e. a place where both I and my friends can live and be happy in.
