Lots of people on Mastodon have been losing their shit over Threads joining the fediverse, so I wanted to give my opinion on this whole shit show.

The good news about that bit of the book is it is far, far less about a particular instance (e.g., Fosstodon) and more about a particular position people took in relation to Threads.
Speaking of which: do you know if Fosstodon currently federates with Threads?
