I think the documentary also really helps to show how these over-policing and how policing in general really pushed this "thinking like a cop" mentality over such a long history. All these inequalities and scapegoating like the War on Drugs only continues to force these environments where people have to anticipate law enforcement behavior. #so345
@spyality I agree, the War on Drugs heavily increased the militarization of police forces, which in turn caused more police brutality and deaths, as they had more access to weapons. These changes to law enforcement raised the stakes for POC and forced them to further "think like a cop" in order to avoid harm or violence from the police. #so345
