One important thing to remember when working with windows, any version, is that things will probably not do what they say they do. Like if you worked with this stuff for a couple years and you do a windows backup and expect there to be a working backup now that'll not ruin everything if you even dare to test if it works I'll laugh at you.
@sophie144p a pitty that that is state of things honestly
@4censord it's been like this since I'm alive, I've learned to welcome the fall from grace of information technology society and the impending doom. I'm looking forward to bathe in the blood, crises, singularity or whatever form of demise they'll bring us, I lust for it.
@sophie144p i mean yeah, i've also not known anything else
but like
it really shouldnt have to be like this
@4censord I don't care, computers can just die in a fire, they add no value to society, they were a scientific and corporate tool and will forever be that, it was a cool thing for a short couple of years before commercialisation of them and everything you do with them took over. It was lost when they added a mouse and a GUI to sell it to more people. There are things that were created for the joy of being alive and to add to the human experience like cameras and writing materials, ways to make and capture music, the computer never was and thus never will be one of them.
@4censord computers were created to count money for capitalism reasons, guide and support weapons for war, and to understand the stars. A way to take a picture is pure, a music box is pure, instruments are pure. They weren't created for evil. Computers were made for everything that is horrible. Then they slapped on more things that are horrible. I despise them, they are unfixable, there is nothing to repair about something so fundamentally broken. There are some unintended edge cases for them that are fun, that they were never intended for. Funny video game good. That was never the intention. Writing stuff good. That was also never the intention. They aren't made for those things to this day and if this doesn't become more obvious and clearer everyday with the way they're used and the industry as a whole abuses them to exploit and fuck everyone over I don't know what does. They don't give a shit about your video games of they can buy all the ram to make money, they don't care about your friends blog if they can stuff a million ads in your face on the way there. An instrument can't do that, a camera can't do that, a piece of paper can't because they weren't made for that purpose.
@4censord whatever people do themselves independent from corporations with it is cool and I'll take that but it's too little too late, I'd rather see it all burn than have those few incredibly small benefits that are just staring at all the awful things they've propelled society towards.
