My 2 cents:
- Some (not all) maintainers have moved on to another platform. To regain interest, maybe implement AP on npmx, or revive Nimbus/tsky within Elk as an AP+AT client?
- Elk is more popular than Phanpy & should stay that way; Phanpy is experimental & won’t cover the whole user base. Let Elk take the (2nd) bigger slice of the pie. (1st should be Mastodon Web)
- Jeff Atwood’s donation seems focused on porting Elk's UI innovations into Mastodon, which undermines maintaining Elk itself…? 🤔
