So. Google is changing the page titles listed in their search results because they believe it can provide more traffic.

Users have no indication the title is not the original one. If Google rewrites a title to something stupid, it will be credited to the site, not Google.

Google is violating the site’s copyright by doing so. It’s an immense breach in the remaining trust users may have in this search engine.

Google is beginning to replace news headlines in its search results with ones that are AI-generated. After AI clickbait nonsense in its Google Discover news feed, it’s starting to mess with headlines in the “10 blue links” too.

@Cyclist @hywan yes you can. For now Google still respects the robots.txt convention/standard. So you just add the proper identifiers to it and you won't appear on their search engine.
My personal website for example is not indexed on Google
