No, people are dumber than ever. What changed is that in previous wars the lies were at least coherent. This time, every statement from every executive official contradicts every other statement, including those previously made by that same official.

That may well be, but I’m talking about solo interviews and other press events. No amount of competent coaching could get Trump to a place where he could be that coherent.
