So since AutoTTS is pretty much dead now for good, I decided to go and figure something out myself and create an alternative. While AutoTTS was paid, my alternative app, SwitchSynth for Android is totally free, without any hidden payments or anything. Note that it's in a serious testing phase and I'm releasing it so we can test it together, but it pretty much works in this state as well. Or, at least, I tested Hungarian-Russian and it works smoothly.

@destranis Are you sure it's dead? It's been last updated on 0502/2026 on my end. I bought the app around a month ago and it's working. Unless there is something more recent happening with the app that I'm not aware of of course
@quanchi The problem is, even if you get updates, the license can't be found even if you bought the app. It's being the case for like a month now. I bought the app on google play but every time I open it, the app tells me license not found. I really need such an app so I honestly bought AutoTTS yet 3 years ago. I even reinstalled it a couple of times, no change. License not found.
@destranis Ah, that explains the same message I got the other day. I restarted the phone, turned off Jieshuo and turned on Talkback. That's when Talkback said “license not found”. I thought that it was a bug or just a rare thing, now I know it came from AutoTTS. It was working fine though even after I got the message and I've gotten the message only once this way. I'm new to Android so I hope I didn't setup my self for failure by trusting it. I rely on language auto switching and I love the fact that you can pick voices from multiple engines.
@quanchi Well, I hope it'll keep working for you. On my phone it died about 3 or 4 weeks ago and nothing could revive it. That's why I decided to finally benefit from the Gemini pro I have because of my student status, and write something. It's not perfect yet and I'll need to fix a few bugs and hopefully improve responsiveness, but this one is always going to be free with no additional costs.
@destranis Thank you for planning to make it free. It's always good to have something like that free for people who can't or aren't able to pay for apps. Just a tip though: if you have the Google AI Pro plan, you can use Antigravity app instead of using raw Gemini on the web or Gemini app. It'll help you a lot for medium to large projects. Using Gemini on the web is probably just good for making scripts since it can't manage files to the degree Antigravity can. The accessibility when it comes to viewing the AI output needs a little bit of work but overall it's a good option if you're already on the Pro plan.
@quanchi Thanks for the tip, I'm already using all of this including CLI :)
