Rozet Culture House - When Ornament Came Back. Neutelings Riedijk Architects

Rozet Culture House, Arnhem by Neutelings Riedijk Architects, 2013. This isn't decoration for decoration's sake. Rozet uses mass-produced concrete elements to reintroduce ornament. Scaled, repeated, industrial. A contemporary take on something architecture quietly abandoned for decades.

@archinews absolutely brilliant design with an extremely engaging presentation to boot. I think this grand staircase idea should become a new standard for the public library typology. The reintroduction of ornament as an ordering as well as aesthetic device is just the icing on the cake. Seriously one of the best designed buildings I’ve seen this decade.
