If you've ever had to field repair/replace a drive side rear spoke in the backcountry, a very very long walk from anyplace, you'll understand why.
Also the hub machining is just hot 🤤
** to the point where if I owned a bike shop and you wanted a bespoke build or new wheels I would evangelize at you about straight pull spokes until you chose on your own to use them.
...or more likely take your business to a place not run by a crazy guy 😂😂
...actually I'd just remove the choice. Only stock straight pull hubs/wheels here unless they're OEM on a complete bike. Shop over yonder is your j bend specialist, go see them they're also really good.
