I haven't felt the desire to go to a movie theater in years but I'm feeling it for Project Hail Mary.

I don't think we'll go, though. Just too damn expensive and I hate being so close to random people.

But still. We haven't been to a theater since before COVID. I'm not even sure my youngest remembers ever being to one.

Can't pause for potty breaks. No captions. Too many other people. Expensive. Uncomfortable. Risk of people on their phones or who won't shut up.

The math just doesn't add up.

@bigzaphod There are no "small cinemas" in USA? Or hours with less people? Or seat reservations to choose optimal location?

Bad behavior of others is of course always a risk, but big screen and high-fidelity sound was always an enticing factor for me.

It also allows to focus on the movie way better than at home.
