Strange to think Kate Pierson was born the same year as my mother. While my mom was raising 3 kids + man-baby husband, Kate Pierson was half a decade away from being in the B-52's. I guess there is some variety and variation among boomers. A little at least. Different life paths, different fates.
Much later, as an adult when I noticed KP's age/birth year ( I think it was when she was in her early 70's or late 60's and finally married her long time lesbian lover in Hawaii.. there was a news story about it) I used to imagine what it'd have been like to have someone artsy and.. well, *happy* as a mother instead of.. well.. one so burdened with responsibility. Dour parents generally make dour kids, or messed up kids.
