Once again I'm confronted by needing to perform a major version upgrade to an OS.

Once again I'm reminded that I can do this with just two commands on an up to date #OpenBSD system:
sysupgrade
pkg_add -u

I'm not saying one is better than the other, but I am saying that this should not be my entire Sunday afternoon.

@bill I'm certain that OpenBSD has similar release notes and upgrade notes for different situations, so your post is a bit silly.

PS. I looked them up, so yes, there are.

PPS. Upgrading from Bookworm to Trixie on my desktop, laptop and servers was pretty trivial.
