Upon scraping… clean, unbroken copper. Dang it.
I should add this thing has some impact damage to the case so I was hoping to find some obvious corresponding damage inside that I could fix. Sadly no. I may have to do some actual diagnostics which I am woefully under qualified/experienced/skilled/equipped to do. But worth a go eh
