I spent much of my free time in the late '80s and '90s on various BMW motorcycles, bopping around and camping in the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, etc..

I had ridden a Honda CB350T in college, so I had the license. In the '80s I was practicing administrative law and related litigation in DC, and experiencing the associate trap: theoretically you had three weeks of vacation, but you had to get a partner's OK to use it.
It occurred to me that if I had a motorcycle again, I could stretch weekends. So I started shopping. I walked into a BMW dealer and saw a silvery-green K75S, and baby, that thing called to me. "Buy me," it said.
