@ocean Actually? I agree. Partly.
I mean... HL2 was a technological feat pulled out by Valve at the time. It's physics engine was super advanced at the time. But the game itself is... meh. It's not bad, just... not that particularly memorable, if it wasn't because of the nostalgia and some iconic moments like when the metro police asks you to pick up the can. I think HL1 was more memorable. The fact that you're in a huge hazardous laboratory trying to survive an alien invasion that you brought up by yourself plus the military... it was really cool.

@enigmatico I've played bits of both in the past, but I only actually fully played BOTH in 2023 and Half Life 1 is just so much more fun. It's got better gameplay and it's got a bettery story. It's very much "show, don't tell" which lends to this eerie atmosphere and wow the final boss
@ocean I think my main issue with HL2 is the whole aesthetic of the game. HL1 and HL2 feel like 2 different games with the exact same player mechanics because of it. It's like playing Rayman 1 and then playing Rayman 2, but they kept Rayman 2 in 2D (same story and everything as in the original Rayman 2).
