@mathowie The coffee table looks great! How did you manage that long, tapering profile on the underside of the tabletop? That seems like a tough angle to get on a table saw.
@waldoj I did the chamfer on a big Sawstop with a huge fence. It was sketch and left some burn marks
@mathowie I can see how that equipment would help! I don’t think I’d attempt a cut like that on my equipment…but now I want to. :) My chamfers are all with router bits.
@waldoj I did it with my instructor on a huge cabinet saw and it almost bogged the 5hp motor to stop. Took two people to hold and keep the top straight for the cut too.

What a big help to have an instructor! The “making every possible mistake” approach available to me is often demoralizing and sometimes dangerous. That coffee table is strong evidence of the rightness of your approach.

@waldoj the best part of being in a weekly woodworking class is asking the instructor “hey this idea of mine seems sketchy, how would I do it safely?” and he always has a great answer.
