I'm self-hosting #karakeep as a personal bookmarking service, and it's been very good. I used to use Pocket as my "never read later" app, until Mozilla closed it down, presumably because you can't sell ads on a web site that nobody visits.
@sanityinc “never read later” I’m in this post and I don’t like it.🤣😭
Obsidian web clipper works well for me these days but then again I was already using Obsidian.
@mikebroberts Yeah... I'm generally of the belief that curating a personal knowledge database is poor value, but parking articles for "later" is a useful hack for me. What *has* been useful is using them to find again articles that I actually read and liked immediately. Working around brain quirks is 90% of maturing as an adult afaict.
@sanityinc Yeah, I’m most definitely *not* an Obsidian power user. Mostly journaling + page saving + the occasional notes / project page.
@sanityinc I switched to Wallabagger and happily pay for sync. Works on all my devices.
@richcarl I've heard good things about Wallabag and iirc I would have used that if it had already had a handy NixOS module.
