@jenzi No, it's not. No one should be alone. But yes, I hear the point. It is sad and shouldn't be the case. We are an individualistic society which is why if at all possible, it is good to reach out.
@MargaretSefton I've been circling the drain for month, family is watching me fail all over again. I have a house that's worth double what I owe and I can't get any help to sell it and have a soft landing - they are going to let me be homeless.
@jenzi Heartbreaking. I felt isolated when I had cancer and thought I might die. I sold my house as-is to a real estate company that probably paid less than it was worth of course, but it got me out of a bind really quickly and provided me much needed cash for the next step.
@MargaretSefton I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. I need simple work done, and people to help coordinate it - they are refusing to acknowledge I'm even disabled. I'll probably lose $50k. Think though I'll end up moving to a trailer, which could be worse - was thinking of #vanlife
@MargaretSefton This is good to hear. I want to preserve what I have, as a natural instinct - a quick sale might be best. The concern I have is that all the houses for sale here are empty, I can't even afford to do that.
@MargaretSefton I was just publishing stuff about this! We're cooked, fees go up, wages do not. It's not even viable to open a business any more, we're baked into a corner.
