I have just gotten word that Jehovah's Witnesses have made a major amendment to their doctrines. They are now allowed to accept blood transfusions as long as it's their own blood, i.e. blood they extracted/donated at an earlier date that they now use for reinfusion.

This is such a painful change. Decades of people dying from not allowing themselves to receive life-saving medical procedures because they believe it's a sin. And now, it was all man-made apparently.

@teacherbuknoy Definitely man made, but I see a huge flaw in their new plan. How could a person access their own blood stored in the country where they live, if they're on vacation and were involved in an accident in some country on the opposite side of the world? Sending you hugs, from one ex-JW to another 💞 😔

@RichardWrightFan @WirlOfWirls except knowing the Government Body, they really thought this through. The exact wording is that it is now a personal matter.

Which means they're being Pontius Pilates on this and washing their hands clean from any of those cases. If someone dies, they can't be blamed.

💯Actually you're right, and though I was "half joking", the fact is that governments around the world are starting to hold the organization accountable for its deadly policies and mostly for the horrible CSA cover-up.
