Other states are pushing to regulate the machines, often found in grocery stores, gas stations and laundromats, which are easily mistaken for ATMs — and favored by criminals... who, based on reports to the FBI, used the machines to scam people out of more $333 million in 2025 alone

Scams can be reported to local law enforcement or the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at IC3.gov.
