The current US administration has requested $200 billion in additional money to fund the war in Iran. 3 weeks into this war and Trump already needs more money for this war, which btw. exceeds the help the previous Biden administration has given to fund the Ukrainian defense, by far.
And you can be sure that this is only the initial number. Even Pete Hegseth says this:
"As far as the $200 billion, I think that number could move."
Double or even triple it, and you come close to what it will cost if this goes on for much longer, without considering for the necessary replenishment of stockpiles dedicated for other theatres of wars.
@Tendar The ballooning budget deficit might eventually be what eventually produces a major strategic defeat for the US.
