WHEN PEOPLE TALK UNICASE ON THE INTERNET THEY TEND TO USE LOWERCASE LETTERS, BUT CONSIDERING THE HISTORY OF THE LATIN ALPHABET, IT IS FAR MORE CORRECT TO USE ALL CAPS, AS THAT IS THE ORIGINAL UNICASE FORM OF THE ALPHABET, LOWERCASE BEING A LATER INVENTION BASED ON CURSIVE FORMS OF THE LETTERS. IT'S PRETTY CLEAR BY HOW SIGNIFICANTLY MORE METRICALLY CONSISTENT CAPITAL LETTERS ARE COMPARED TO LOWERCASE, IN FACT. THIS IS SURPRISINGLY TIRING TO READ.
@chjara idk by what process all caps became synonymous with shouting when reading it, but reading it as if it was shouting is in fact tiring
@kc I think mostly just because it looks bigger and more emphasized than its surroundings, and emphasized speech is yelling.

@chjara @kc i mean they're even literally called big letters in some languages like Finnish

anyway i think it's also keyboard-related; you need to do extra steps to type in uppercase so lowercase is seen as the "default" like speaking at normal volume while caps is taking extra steps (≈volume) to draw attention to yourself
