An amazing gold bowl with depictions of animals, crescent moons and cirlcles representing suns and/or full moons.
It was discovered in 1906 during the construction of a railway line in Zurich-Altstetten, Switzerland. Dating around 1000 BC. With a weight of 910 grams it's one of the heaviest gold vessels of the late Bronze Age ever found.

@ninawillburger seeing beautiful artifacts like that, I wonder what stories the people making it, the people using it told each other, they sure knew of other cultures, how much exchange was there?
It's a pity this is before the dawn of written account

@pjakobs here in Denmark several glass pearls has been found in graves. Tests of these disclosed, that they were manufactured in the Middle East and Egypt. So a lot of travel has been performed.

I would also like to know a lot more about the tales told at the feasts, where a magnificent bowl like this could be used. I bet there was a lot of good tales to be told 🙂
