Week 30 (December 21-27) Characters
The elves are busy - post elf smut! (anything related to elves -Christmas, fantasy, space, or fae)

@NaraMoore last year, my first idea for the Christmas art was to do a kinky one with Érié by the time she was with Lady d’Arcy @pentup

Week 31 (December 28-January 3) Studio
Are you making any New Year's Resolutions that relate to, or will affect, your erotic work?

Nothing really special: to be able to finish Chapter Three in time and then start working on Chapter Four. Ah, and publish the 2nd artbook🙏 If all goes well, 2026 will be a productive year

Final Question? (answer any time)
At the start of June, I decided to trial Erotic Musings until the end of the year and then decide if it was worth continuing. Would you like Erotic Musings to continue into the new year?

Yes 🤘

If so, is there anything you'd like to change about it, or do you want it to carry on how it is?

I appreciate :
the diversity of questions
the slow rhythm with only one question a week.

Week 32 (January 4-10) Setting
Do you make use of symbolism? For erotic and/or romantic purposes, or other reasons?

I checked on Wikipedia what symbolism means: it was an artistic movement that peaked during the 1890s, marked by ”a strong pessimism, an attraction to dreams and esotericism, and a general atmosphere of melancholy. The symbol of the femme fatale is [often used]”

It describes Esther and Érié perfectly, except the misogyny of the movement.

Week 33 (January 11-17) Craft
Is creating erotica an erotic act in itself? What part, if any, does your own arousal play in creating or evaluating your work?

I won’t lie, all my ladies match my tastes, and I’m always happy to draw them, the perfect hourglass shape of Esther, the slimness and frailty of Érié and even Lady d’Arcy with her exaggerated curves. And I like to make their clothes shine like latex (even if it’s anachronistic)

Week 35 (January 25-31) Culture
Porn, romance, erotica, smut, etc. - how do you define and distinguish them? Does it matter?

Romance: there’s a plot, feelings are involved, sex suggested if any
Erotica: there’s a plot, feelings are involved, sex explicit
Porn/smut: who needs a plot? Feelings are superfluous too. Sex is explicit

Week 37 (February 8-14) Setting
Does any of your erotica take place during festivals or cultural celebrations?
Why do/don't you include such events in your work?

Chapter Five will see Esther attend to the opening bal of the Great Albion season. It was the opportunity to meet anybody who is anybody

Week 39 (February 22-28) Culture
Western erotica has long used the exotic, mysterious East as a canvas. Does your erotica explore themes of the "exotic", and/or of "otherness"?

In my case, it’s more the Wild West than the Far East. Erié’s foreignness plays an important role in Esther and Érié:

* Lady d’Arcy chose to train leonines as maids because it was said to be impossible (and also she was broken);

#EroticMusings #WritingCommunity 1/2

* Dr Moreau sees her as an interesting natural example of what he is trying to achieve;
* Inspector O’Brien considers her as a wildling responsible for the murders of Esther’s relatives;
* As for Esther, their bound is precisely so strong because she doesn’t care her maid is a leonine. But it’s not erotic (yet)

Week 40 (March 1-7) Studio
Where/how do you promote your erotica? Is it effective? How do you evaluate that?

I don’t really promote it as erotica, but as an horror story. And when I say “promote”, I don’t mean doing ads campaigns but how I describe it when doing comics cons.

I sold more last year than two years ago so I guess I’ve become a better hawker

Week 41 (March 8-14) Craft
Are you self-taught, or have you been trained or mentored in your craft? Would you like more?

Self-taught: no one in my family never really supported me so I have to learn by myself. It was before internet existed

#EroticMusings #WritingCommunity

Week 42 (March 15-21) Setting
Do you include different languages in your work? Tell us about it!

Not directly a different language but I emphasise Érié’s foreignness by using some letter variants (A/Å, I/Ì, C/Ç). To keep it readable I don’t use French E variants (É, È, Ê, Ë)

Text is in pale green as she speaks softly and quietly. I do voluntarily some grammar and syntax errors to suggest she’s not totally fluent

Week 43 (March 22-28) Characters
Share some erotic fanfic or fan art of someone else's characters

It can be a little surprisingly but I didn’t do much, in fact the only ones I can think of were crossovers with https://www.deviantart.com/raven-of-305 characters
