Summit - A Lemmy reader - sh.itjust.works

Hello! I recently just released a Lemmy reader app for open beta. I’ve been working on the app since the black out about a week ago. The app is will very much a work in progress however the core reader functionality should be working. I will continue to work on the app and estimate it will likely like a month before all core features will be implemented. That being said, I’ve been having a lot of trouble browsing Lemmy on web and I still think the app is an upgrade over the raw web experience. If anyone is interested please give the app a try and let me know what you think! Here’s a quick demo as well: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/MMpMHwzTuII [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/MMpMHwzTuII] Update I started a community at https://lemmy.world/c/summit [https://lemmy.world/c/summit]. I will try to post frequent updates there.

My single user instance cost almost zero.

Self-hosted on my hardware that already used to host other stuff. Cpu overhead seems negligible, and network bandwidth is free (=already paid for). Disk space is nothing compared to my Linux ISOs collection.

I’ve been thinking of self-hosting a server (and some other stuff)for a while. I hope you don’t mind that I post this comment just so I (hopefully) can try getting back to you for tips when I get around to buying the hardware.
Bot at all, here is my wiki where I wrote down how I did wiki.gardiol.org/doku.php?id=services%3Alemmy its for my own memory and benefit, but shared for others who might need it.
Lemmy

Lemmy Lemmy is the Fediverse response to the reddit like social media, but of course, federated. What't not to like? And isn't it the best opportunity to self-host for your personal use and have your own Lemmy instance?
