our continuous hot water system puts water out at 55°C (scalding temp), and i'm hoping the landlord sends a technician who says "whoa this thing is moments away from exploding" and then they replace it with something electric so we don't have to pay two sets of daily charges + inflated gas costs
@cestfleuve
55°C meets code for residential systems if it was installed before November 2024
@RedRobyn code or not, our bathroom doesn't have mixer taps, the shower mixer is such that there's half a mm between ice cold and heat stroke, and there's no installed user-operable thermostat so we can't adjust it ourselves
@cestfleuve @RedRobyn the plumber can also install a doohickey on the cold pipe that adjusts the shower cold water pressure down. This gives a wider range between cold and scalding hot.
@inlaing @RedRobyn that would be good. idk why they set it up this way. one of these days i'm going to faint
