This is blame the victim.

Apart from anything else did anyone in those very well paid 'defense' upper echelons have a look at what some of the consequences might be or did we just jump in fully clothed at the demand of our masters.

Personally I think the biggest masterstroke is having to remove the oil sanctions on your 'enemy' because you have started a war.
