I bought a big gay clock, but I'm sad. It requires "AA" batteries. I don't have any AA batteries. Why not 18650 batteries, you know, 18mm x 650mm. This is the year of 2026, everyone has metric batteries, not this leaky American toxic mercury infused technology from the lead ages.

Americans will use anything but the #Metric system.

@dianea I wish things used 18650 batteries. I don't understand why virtually nothing does except "vapes." They're a standard for a reason...

I modified so many things to take an 18650, but for the correct voltage it has to take 3 (or 4 in some cases will do, though that makes it pretty low voltage for what they expect so only some will tolerate it.) Everything else I had to add a whole complexity with a DC-DC converter...

The EU uses exclusively SI. However if you buy anything that runs on batteries it will typically be AAA, AA, B, C or D or a 9v Cell.
