Two views of this evening's #ISS pass over The Hague. 44 / 14 x 0.2 ms unfiltered mono in Celestron 8" + 2.5x powermate. #astrophotography

Correction these were shot without powermate at f/10. Today I tried the powermate on the #ISS but (as with earlier barlow experiments) there seems to be not much benefit because the higher resolution comes at the cost of longer exposures which increase motion blur.

@chrfrde Is it possible to resolve smaller satellites with that telescope as well?
@latuernich technically yes in the sense that it may resolve to more than one pixel but it is unlikey to show useful detail. ISS is about 100m from end to end so you can see useful resolution here is about 1m/pixel.
@latuernich I feel old now realizing how long I've been doing this but here is an image I tried 2014 of the automated transfer vehicle that is about 10m long so large enough to show a bit of structure but well you see...
