Is anyone else annoyed by the growing trend of emoji-vomit in CLI applications, or am I just a joyless enemy of fun?*

*(I know I hate fun, but even still...)

@growlph I'm just annoyed by it a little in general. That and stickers.

Like I don't mind them once in a while, but when they're constant it's such a turn off.

I don't mind the occasional emoji for emphasis or a dash of fun in my CLIs, but those screenshots are gratuitous. Overuse makes things harder to parse.
@growlph Is it good enough to drop them if you set your locale/term to something that wont do it?
@penguin42 I will test then when I get back at my machine
@penguin42 Seems like yes, it just swaps in '*'s for the bullets on an uncooked terminal.
@growlph OK, so not _too_ bad.
@growlph At the very least, there should be a CLI flag to turn that shit off.
@growlph I haven't noticed this. The only program I use that has any at all is pipx, which uses them correctly, meaning not in large amounts.
