@Ypsilenna IIRC, this fight was a pain because you need to hit and trigger his portal holes (that's a technical term, don't worry), while not getting hit by his hammer, and then jump into them.
@fugeldich You mean the second encounter with Straga? I am not that far yet, I played this game for about 3 hours so far. Thanks for the info anyway!
The creatures I had a problem with were these tall fiery undeads from the early game. At the beginning I was kiting them around, but then I had to do these timed trials, and I couldn't kill them quickly enough to complete it.
