What do you people store your LEGO in? My collection is currently split between a large cardboard box and a childhood briefcase. I'd like something a little less... batshit.

@helplessduck
Big Rubbermaid tote for the kids' stuff, adult sets are on display on bookshelves. The kids box has a few smaller boxes to hold specific collections.
@helplessduck Project Source (which is just a rebranded Hefty AFAICT) clear plastic tubs like https://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Source-Small-3-75-Gallons-15-Quart-Clear-White-Tote-with-Latching-Lid/5013948515 Mostly because the ridges on the top force smaller sizes to line up and prevent shifting, latches to keep it from spilling, and clear sides because it makes it easier to figure out what's inside. And all the sizes fit together with the lids, so I can mix-and match small, medium, and large to handle my box of heads to the kilograms of white bricks I got from Star Wars.

@helplessduck

I mean... honestly loving the "childhood briefcase" look.

I'm thinking, ditch the cardboard box, keep the briefcase, then really LEAN IN to the batshit. Go thrifting till you find containers at the nexus of very useful and completely bonkers.

Every time I say "childhood briefcase" to myself I just start laughing. It's so good.

@anne

I mean... whomst among us doesn't have fond memories of their first briefcase, a gift for their fifth birthday?

@helplessduck

In the case of one of my offspring, it was a briefcase to hold all their Top Secret Spy Gear.

7 to 10 year olds are literally the best humans.

@helplessduck Two large plastic totes along with various bags and cardboard boxes. I used to keep them all in a bed sheet, like a giant bindle, for easy cleanup.

@wizardtig

Ooo thanks! I've seen the bindle bedsheet before. I'm too neurotic for that.
I landed on the plastic bag from a bedding set. It's remarkably durable, zips, and even has smaller pockets should I ever decide to organize. 😊

@helplessduck I store my Lego in 3 sets of drawers. The ones I use are made of plastic, and are generally easy to open, unless you put too much in there. 2 of these sets have 3 drawers each, and the third has 8 really flat drawers, good for sorting small parts. And it all fits under my Lego table. #Lego
@helplessduck
Good old IKEA for my son.
